紫砂壶始于宋,兴于明清,长久以来,紫砂壶在文人雅士的追捧把玩中,逐步形成“冶造型、文学、绘画、书法、篆刻于一体”的金石文化艺术风范。紫砂壶是反映时代风尚的产物,某个时代的品味,规范了它的造型及纹饰。纵观紫砂壶的历史演变,一般都表现为由粗趋精、由大趋小、由简趋繁,复又返璞归真从简行事,经历了古朴、华丽、淡雅的三个阶段。对于现代收藏家来说,精品紫砂壶可谓是收藏界的顶梁柱之一。

时大彬的紫砂壶,一脱尘俗,朴雅坚致,风格优雅悦目,流畅灵活。“壶家妙手称三大”之一的徐友泉晚年仍自叹“吾之精,终不及时(指时大彬)之粗也”。时大彬是紫砂艺术的一代宗匠,生平活动期在明代万历朝至清代顺治朝之间。他对紫砂陶的泥料配制、成型技法、造型设计与铭刻,都极有研究,确立了至今仍为紫砂业沿袭的用泥片和镶接那种凭空成型的高难度技术体系。

龚氏所藏文物,必有精致考究之包装,如此壶就有度身定做的瘿木囊匣,内衬精致的织锦包面,卧囊以柔软的丝绸填垫,制作精良,亦可作为单独的艺术品欣赏,收藏家对文物的爱惜之情表露无遗。囊匣内贴有先生手书的考证文字及鉴藏印章,不单说明此壶的珍贵,先生严谨审慎的个人收藏风格,也体现出他雅致的文人情怀和品味,同时也是他个人气质和修养的表露,所谓“雅玩”,当是如此,值得我等后辈学习。此“瞻丽斋”珍藏旧物早年流散制日本,如今重返故土,值得藏家珍视。
