这枚“湖南省造双旗币当制钱二十文“，为民国时期的机铸钱币。这双旗币正面图案由内圈和外圈两部分文字和图案组成，外圈左右两端以长枝花饰之，上下则清楚地写着几个楷体字：“湖南省造”和“当制钱二十文”，内圈为民国时期著名的五色旗与铁血十八星旗交叉着的双旗图案，足以向世人说明出它的出产年代；钱背也由外圈和内圈两部分文字和图案组成，外圈上方环有英文“THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA”（即中华民国），下方的英文为“TWENTY CASH”，内圈则装饰有稻穗组成的嘉禾纹，枝叶繁茂，画面和谐。
