猪宝，又名猪辰砂、猪砂，是猪胆结石的俗称。最早在《唐本草》中记载称之为野猪黄，为猪科动物野猪胆囊中的结石，它的外形呈椭圆形，大小不一，外表呈浅黄色，或灰黑色的，表面粗糙，长着两三厘米长的毛。它用手摸上去，毛质地较硬，有一股腥味，用刀将毛切开，发现里面是黄色的，有点香，外形如同豆粒，或呈粉末状,表面有少许光泽。众多典籍记载，其味辛、甘、平、无毒，主金疮、止血、生肉、癫痫。大家比较熟知的一般是牛黄、猪砂、狗宝、马宝、鸡宝、鸭宝，而这六样也被誉为中药六宝；不过，目前除了牛黄较常见之外，其它五宝相当难得，据现代医药研究表明，它们对中枢神经系统、心血管造血系统具有一定的效用，以及利胆及保肝、抗炎、抗感染、清热解毒等作用。
