鸡缸杯是明成化斗彩杯之一，饮酒用具，造型为敞口，浅腹，卧足。因杯身以斗彩描绘线鸡啄早哺雏，姿态栩栩如生，辅以牡丹、兰花、柱石纹，故名。斗彩是明清彩瓷中的名品，成化时期有着辉煌的成就。“斗彩”以制瓷的工艺方法取名，是将釉上五彩和釉下青花相结合，形成釉上、釉下彩绘互相争奇斗艳的艺术效果。
此藏品形制精巧可爱，胎壁细薄似纸，一面绘庭院之中雄鸡独立回首，目睛圆睁若熠熠有光芒，与雌鸡相呼应，周边散见五只雏鸡，欢快觅食，淘憨可喜。鸡缸杯为成化瓷器之代表，为成化新创之造型，因其缸形杯身及外壁绘鸡为主题而得名。
斗彩鸡缸杯，是在口径8.3厘米的撇口卧足碗外壁上，先用青花细线淡描出纹饰的轮廓线后，上釉入窑经1300度左右的高温烧成胎体，再用红、绿、黄等色填满预留的青花纹饰中二次入窑低温焙烧。外壁以牡丹湖石和兰草湖石将画面分成两组，一组绘雄鸡昂首傲视，一雌鸡与一小鸡在啄食一蜈蚣，另有两只小鸡玩逐，另一组绘一雄鸡引颈啼鸣，一雌鸡与三小鸡啄食，画面形象生动，情趣盎然。
斗彩是明清彩瓷中的名品，成化时期有着辉煌的成就。“斗彩”以制瓷的工艺方法取名，是将釉上五彩和釉下青花相结合，形成釉上、釉下彩绘互相争奇斗艳的艺术效果。以釉下青花勾绘全部或部分图案的轮廓线，再以低温彩如红、黄、绿、紫釉等填入其中，这就是所说的填彩，成化时期的填彩多有突出或未填满青花轮廓线的现象。

After the outline of the decoration is sketched out with blue and white thin lines, the Glazed Chicken cup is fired into the kiln at about 1300 degrees high temperature, and then filled with red, green, yellow and other colors to prepare the blue and white decoration. It is roasted at low temperature twice in the kiln. On the outside wall, the paintings are divided into two groups with peony Lake stone and orchid Lake stone. One group depicts a cock holding its head high and arrogant. A female chicken and a chicken are pecking a centipede. The other two chickens are playing with each other. Dou Cai is a famous product in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has made brilliant achievements in Chenghua Period. "Dou Cai" is named after the process of making porcelain.
