元青花瓷（又称元青花），即元代生产的青花瓷器。青花瓷生产于唐代，兴盛于元代。成熟的青花瓷出现在元代的景德镇，纹饰最大特点是构图丰满，层次多而不乱。 元青花瓷大改传统瓷器含蓄内敛风格，以鲜明的视觉效果，给人以简明的快感。以其大气豪迈气概和艺术原创精神，将青花绘画艺术推向顶峰，确立了后世青花瓷的繁荣与长久不衰。
元代青花瓷器的纹饰可分两类。一类是以进口料绘画纹饰，具有构图满密、层次丰富、绘画工整的特点。发色浓重鲜丽呈青翠浓艳，浓厚处有黑色锈斑，俗称“黑疵”，浓处用手抚摸时青花釉面上呈凹凸不平之感，这就是使用进口“苏泥勃青”料所特有的呈色效果。青花与刻花、印花、瓷塑、浅浮雕等多种技法相结合，绘画充分发挥蓝白的艺术效果，有白地青花、蓝地白花或青花线描为地几种风格。在装饰时，工匠结合不同器型采用不同技法，有的用两种、三种方法配合或几种方法集中于一体，刻花线条粗犷有力，印花线条圆润耐看，浅浮雕效果立体感强。此外应该注意的是，元青花纹饰绘画方法以平涂为主，结合勾、皴、点、染技法，线条苍劲有力，显示出元代工匠高超的绘画才能。
