《 康熙字典》是 张玉书 、 陈廷敬 等三十多位著名学者奉康熙圣旨编撰的一部具有深远影响的汉字 辞书 。该书的编撰工作始于康熙四十九年（ 1710 年），成书于康熙五十五年（ 1716 年），历时六年，因此书名叫《康熙字典》。由总纂官张玉书、陈廷敬主持，修纂官 凌绍雯 、 史夔 、 周起渭 、 陈世儒 、 贾国维 等合力完成。字典采用部首分类法，按笔画排列单字，字典全书分为十二集，以 十二地支 标识，每集又分为上、中、下三卷，并按 韵母 、 声调 以及 音节 分类排列韵母表及其对应汉字，共收录汉字四万七千零三十五个，为汉字研究的主要参考文献之一。《康熙字典》入选 中国世界纪录协会 中国收录汉字最多的古代字典。《康熙字典》是中国第一部以字典命名的汉字辞书。
Kangxi dictionary is a dictionary of Chinese characters with far-reaching influence compiled by more than 30 famous scholars including zhang yushu and Chen tingjing. The compilation of the book began in the forty-ninth year of kangxi (1710) and was completed in the fifty-fifth year of kangxi (1716), which lasted six years. Hence the name kangxi dictionary. By the general zuan official zhang yushu, Chen tingjing presided over the revision zuan official ling shaowen, shi kui, zhou qiwei, Chen shiru, jia guowei and other joint efforts to complete. Dictionary use radical classification, according to the stroke order words, the dictionary book is divided into 12 sets, to the twelve earthly branches, each episode is divided into the upper, middle and under the three volumes, and according to the finals and tones and classification arrangement are as table and the corresponding Chinese characters, it consists of forty-seven thousand and thirty-five Chinese characters, one of the main reference for the research of Chinese characters. Kangxi dictionary has been selected by the China world records association as the ancient dictionary with the most Chinese characters. Kangxi dictionary is the first dictionary of Chinese characters named after a dictionary in China.
