冷军，1963年生于四川。1984年毕业于武汉师范学院汉口分院艺术系。现任武汉画院副院长，国家一级美术师。在2007年9月22日下午闭幕的湖北省文学艺术界联合会第八次代表大会，冷军当选为省文联副主席。其作品多次参加国内外大展，数次获全国美展大奖，声名海内外，是近年来大陆非常有影响的青年美术家。冷军1984年毕业于武汉师范学院汉口分院艺术系。现任武汉画院院长。主要艺术创作及活动年表：1993年作品《关于网的设计》获93中国油画年展银奖。1994年作品《文物-新产品设计》获第二届中国油画展艺术作品奖，并参加中国油画百年展。1995年作品《世纪风景之二》获’95第三届中国油画年展金奖。1999年作品《五角星》获第九届全国美展金奖。2000年参加“1979-1999世纪之门邀请展”，并在深圳美术馆举办个展。2001年开始制作石版画，作品《突变-有刺的剪刀》获首届中国小油画大展优秀作品奖。2002年作品《工具箱》等六幅系列参加中国油画三年展。作品多为国内外艺术机构及私人收藏。
