Fu Baoshi is a very accomplished painter in the history of art. Especially, he studied art history theory under Wumen, the Historiographer of Imperial University of Tokyo in Japan. This makes Fu Baoshi fill in the gaps in many fields of art history research. The research attainments of art history theory are of great help to his art creation. He integrated the changes of painting art in the pre-Qin, Tang and Song Dynasties into his own aesthetic art, which formed Fu Baoshi's unique painting style.
