报告题目:From Combinatorial Chemistry to Nanotechnology to Cancer Imaging & Therapy

报告人简介:Kit S. Lam is a Professor and Chair of University of California in Davis, a physician-scientist, a practicing medical oncologist, and an expert in combinatorial chemistry, chemical biology, drug development, molecular imaging, nanotherapeutics, and biomaterial. He is the Editorial Board of Combinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening (1998-2009), ACS   Combinatorial Sciences (2010-present), Chemical Biology & Drug Design (2007-2011), Expert Opinion on Drug Discovery (2006-2012), Current Pharmaceutical Design (2007-present), the Conference Chairman of First and Second International Conference on Combinatorial Library Methods for Basic Research and   Drug Discovery (Dec 1995 and Jan 1998, Tucson, Arizona).   He have gotten Honors of Society of Combinatorial Sciences Award (2007); Fellow of American College of Physicians (2009); Harold Albin Johnson Endowed Chair in Biomedical Research (2010) and Vincent du Vigneaud Award (American peptide Society 2013). He has recently developed a novel class of telodendrimers that can self-assemble to form nanomicelles or nanodiscs. These nanoparticles can serve as efficient carriers for drug delivery. He is also an expert in the development of drug-polymer conjugates. He has tremendous experience in xenograft and transgenic tumor models for cancer imaging and therapy. He invented the one-bead-one-compound combinatorial library methods that have been used for the development cancer targeting ligands. Many new advances in the chemical synthesis, encoding, screening and polymer support of the OBOC technology were developed in his laboratory. The “one-bead one-compound” (OBOC) combinatorial library method was first published in Nature in 1991. The article has since been cited over 1,500 times. He was one of the founding scientists of Selectide Corporation in Tucson, which is now part of Sanofi. He published over 320 peer review articles and he is an inventor of 20  issued patents.
